Tilton Farmers’ Market Voted Among Best in New Hampshire

P1010931

Good news! WMUR viewers confirmed what we knew all along: that the Tilton Farmers’ Market is one of the best summer markets in New Hampshire. Our market ranked seventh on the station’s annual list of best summer markets in the state.

Is it any surprise? We think not!

The Tilton Farmers’ Market features more than 35 vendors, offering the season’s best, freshest and most delicious foods, along with wine, beer, natural body care products, potted herbs and handmade clothing.

In its first year, the market is reaching new audiences, thanks to its convenient location at the Tanger Outlet Center. The site offers plenty of easy parking, and a time-saving option for outlet shoppers to take advantage of the market when they finish up shopping. With such quick access to Route 93, the market is also a perfect stop for families heading north for the weekend. Live music at every market creates a festive, fun atmosphere for all who stop by.

Be sure to visit the market tomorrow (rain or shine, of course!). You’ll be shopping tomorrow to the tunes of Paul Hubert!

See you tomorrow; we’re open from 3 to 7 p.m.

The news is everywhere: a new farmers’ market is coming to Tilton, New Hampshire! The new Tilton Farmers’ Market be easy to find, at the Tanger Outlet Center, 120 Laconia Road, exit 20 off I-93, Route 3. The market will be open rain or shine every Friday from 3 to 7 p.m., all summer long until Sept. 27.

Behind and in front of the scenes, pulling it all together, will be Farmers’ Marketeer Joan O’Connor (of Joan’s Famous Composting Worms fame, not to mention the award-winning Tilton Winter Farmers’ Market). She’ll be hurrying around with a big smile on her face, making sure that every detail is in place for a perfect opening market. Having already selected the best vendors and carefully planned a well-balanced, high-quality market, Joan is eager to welcome shoppers this Friday. “I’m really excited to support the Lakes Region, residents, foodies and visitors by bringing together the best farmers and natural, wholesome food producers of New Hampshire,” she said.

The region’s tasty fruits and berries, vegetables and other delicious products will be on sale at the Tilton Farmers’ Market, including fresh vegetables, gourmet coffee, scrumptious baked goods, fresh-caught New Hampshire seafood, an array of local meats and cheeses, prepared food and meals, natural body care products and more.

There will also be live music each week from local musicians, an information table supporting local producers and businesses and occasional special guest vendors. Yes, opening day is only two days away! This Friday, more than 30 fine local vendors will converge at the Tanger Outlet Center, set up their canopies (in spite of the fact that the opening day forecast looks just ducky!) and bring the best of New Hampshire’s local food products (and more) to you!

We look forward to seeing you on Friday (and don’t forget to bring your friends) to welcome in this season of summer bounty!

Let the Summer Eating Begin!

Brookford Farm cow, 2010

Some of us just can’t wait for the fun to begin! The good news is that we don’t have very long to wait; the Tilton Farmers’ Market opens just a few days from today, on Friday, July 5. We’ll get the summer season started with a bang, with 34 great vendors eager to share their delicious offerings. We’re expecting lots of fresh produce, cheese, fresh dairy products, poultry, meat, soups, eggs, fresh pasta, flatbread crackers and more, so dust off your market bags and mark the calendar!

Don’t you just love summer eating?

But it gets even better! The Tilton Farmers’ Market will welcome New Hampshire Community Seafood, who’ll be bringing delicious, fresh, New Hampshire seafood to market in a few weeks. You can join their community supported fishery (CSF) program and pick up a fresh delivery every week. When you become a member of CSF, you get a share of different, delicious, off-the boat fresh seafood caught locally by New Hampshire fishermen and delivered to you direct from the boat.

Help us spread the word about New Hampshire’s newest, most exciting farmers’ market. Print a copy or two of this nifty Tilton Farmers’ Market poster and hang them at your local community bulletin board, church or daycare center. It’s simply tragic to think that any food-loving person within reach of Tilton might not yet know about this market! Thanks for helping us share the news.

See you at the market on July 5!
